 Hi~ I'm Tao Liang.

I have been a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Zoology at Tel Aviv University since February 2024. Under the supervision of Prof. Shai Meiri and Prof. Uri Roll (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev), my research focuses on the macro-ecology and conservation of amphibians and reptiles, with a particular emphasis on the evolution of morphological traits and phylogeny. I am also conducting research on snake movements and metabolism under the supervision of Dr. Shay Rotics, Prof. Eran Levin, and Prof. Shai Meiri.

Together with my colleagues, we established the Reptile Ecological datebase of China in 2020, which we founded in 2020. Our efforts are centered on collecting and sharing life-history traits of Chinese reptiles (please click here for more details).

Previously, I was in  Xinjiang Agricultural University under the guidance of the professor Lei Shi since 2013-2019. During this period, I studied sexual size dimorphism and reproduction of two  sympatric lizards (Phrynocephalus helioscopus &  Eremias arguta) in arid zone.
It was an amazing journey which I have enjoyed from start to finish in Xinjiang!!
